Description 1 pair of eyeglasses. Frame of metal with straight bows and double nose piece, oval glass lenses.

Possibly used by member of Murdock family: James and Margaret Murdock came to the Oshkosh area before 1853. They owned a farm located on North Main near New York Avenue. James was a candidate for State Treasurer in 1853 and 4th Ward County Supervisor from 1858 to 1863. James died on April 5, 1865 at the age of 47. Margaret was born on July 31, 1826 at Downeyville, Ontario Canada and died in January of 1913 at the age of 87. They had at least six surviving children; Jefferson (1848-1877); Emma (1864-1935); Eugenia (?-1923); Martha (1858-?); Mary (1855-1921) and Viola (1865-?).
