Certificate of Citizenship given to John Beardmore in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. The document states in part that: "...he was born in England on or about 1827 that he emigrated to the United States, and landed at the port of New York on or about the month of April in the year 1850, that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce forever, all allegience and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, particularly to Victoria Queen of England whereof he is a subject. (signed) John Beardmore Subscribed and sworn to the 19th day of March A. D. 1855."
