Bust view image of SCHMIDT, Friedrich (Ferdinand) - Pvt., Company F, 19th Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He wears a dark coat and has moustache and goatee.
Friedrich resided at Oshkosh, Winnebago County when he enlisted there on Jan. 16, 1862. He was assigned as above and was discharged on Nov. 13, 1862 due to a disability. He is not listed in the 1885, 1895, or the 1905 Wisconsin Veterans Census. However, the name on the back of this image is Ferdinand Schmidt, who is listed in the 1884 Oshkosh Directory as a carriage maker
