Bust view image of KOSSBERG/Kasberg, August - Pvt., Company F, 19th Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He wears a dark coat and has a long gray beard.
August resided at Oshkosh, Winnebago County when he enlisted there on Jan. 17, 1862. He was assigned as above and was discharged due to a disability on May 13, 1863. August was listed (Kasberg) in the veteran section of the 1885 Wisconsin State census at P.O. Oshkosh. He is listed in the 1884 Oshkosh City Directory as KASBERG, and was a shoemaker by trade. He is not listed in the 1886 Directory.
