Notes Bust view image of DECRAMER, Peter - Pvt., Company D, 1st (3 yr.) Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He wears a GAR coat with membership badge and a moustache.

Peter was born in Jan. 1833 at Belgium. His parents were natives of that country. He came to the United States in 1855. Peter enlisted at Oshkosh, Winnebago County on Sept. 17, 1861 and was assigned as above. He was mustered out on Oct. 14, 1864. He then reenlisted on Feb. 10, 1865 and was assigned as Private, Company C, 46th Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry He was mustered out at Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sept. 27, 1865. Peter was listed in 1868 as a chimer residing at 12 Cemetery Street in the city of Oshkosh. He was listed in the veteran section of the 1885 Wisconsin State census at P.O. Oshkosh as a veteran of the 17th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry Peter was listed in 1888 as a member of GAR Post #10 at Oshkosh. He was listed in the 1890 federal census as residing in Oshkosh. Peter was listed in the veteran section of the 1895 Wisconsin State census at P.O. Birnamwood, Shawano County. He was listed in the 1900 federal census as divorced and residing at the Wisconsin Veterans' Home at King. He was listed in the veteran section of the 1905 state census at P.O. Menasha, Winnebago County. Peter was also listed in 1905 as a resident at the Wisconsin Veterans' Home at King. Josephine, his widow, was listed in that same year as residing at 288 Tayco Street in the city of Menasha.
