Three-quarter bust view daguerreotype of a young man, prossibly Henry "Harry" Allen. He is wearing a dark frock coat; dark floral pattern brocade vest; white shirt; and dark cravat. His hair is worn over his ears and he wears a beard with the moustache shaved clean. Henry Allen was born in England circa 1834. He immigrated to Canada circa 1854. He married Elisa (maiden name unknown) possibly while living in Canada. By 1880 he is listed in the Oshkosh City Directory as a stone Mason. Elisa Allen was born in 1836 and died in Oshkosh in 1902. Henry died around January 23, 1931 at the age of 97. |
