Half view portrait of James Willock, resident of Oshkosh who was a painter by trade. This is a circa 1880 copy of an earlier image. He has long bushy sideburns, and is wearing an over sized coat with light shirt and no tie. The photographer has tinted his cheeks and lips pink. Inscription: "Grand Fathers Willocks Father" James Willock came to Oshkosh in 1856. He was a painter by occupation and specialized in hand-graining woodwork. He was married to Wihemina. He built a house at 45 (118) Fulton and lived there until his death. The couple had at least one son, Andrew M. Willock. James died June 29, 1905. Wilhelmina survived him until 1925. |
