Bust view of Sophia Dahl Witzel wearing dark dress with small dots, large collar and mutton sleeves. Sophia Dahl was born in Germany and imigrated to America in 1853 with her parents, arriving in Oshkosh the same year. In 1855 she married William H. Witzel. They had four children that survived; Horace M., Clara, William C. and Agnes S. Witzel. Following William H. Witzel's death in 1893, she lived with her maiden daughter Agnes, and in 1912 they moved in with Clara Witzel Sterling. Sophia Dahl Witzel died on April 25, 1921. |
