Description:
Calf-length straight-cut sleeveless dress of coral-colored silk crepe with gold and white bead decoration; square neckline with two shoulder straps on each side; right side only of dress from hip to hem is a fabric panel of narrow pleats set in. Label located on back neckline, white cloth with golden-yellow machine embroidery: Made in France/RUE DE LA PAIX GOWN/PARIS

Used by Mrs. Rowland prior to her wedding Howard Rowland in 1936. Several Oshkosh Northwestern accounts of her travel abroad. 4/18 & 7/25/ 1931

Rue de la Paix: a fashionable shopping street in the center of Paris, best known for its jewelers such as Cartier. Charles Frederick Worth was the first to open a couture house there in 1858.

1931. Its coral color, always complimentary to any complexion, is set off by the wonderful flowing French curl designs in white and silver beads.
