Black crepe sheath dress. A round neckline is trimmed with gold and pearl necklace-like decoration sewn in; set-in sleeves gathered at the shoulders and edges trimmed with 2-inch wide cartridge pleats of black crepe; fitted bodice tapers to narrow waistline; 6-inch zipper closure upper bodice back and also zipper closure on right side; skirt has 4 pleats in the front and a fitted back; side pockets edged with black crepe cartridge pleats extend from waist to side seam below hip; same fabric covered belt at waistline; label inside dress: ORIGINAL/Queen/(image of a crown)/Frocks

Queen Frocks was a national chain of high-end dresses. This dress most likely sold for between $40 to $50 when purchased which would equal in 2011 currency to $375 to $470
