Description:
Paisley pattern fabric in red rust, blue and green; accented with light blue velvet trimmed with black silk, off-shoulder collar, edged with light blue velvet extends down front of jacket, three frog-buttons decorate left and right side of collar which extends to bodice back forming a V from which a black velvet tassel is attached. Set in sleeves extend to wrists. Cut away jacket fastens under bust line, under dress, made of the same fabric has a stand-up blue velvet collar, fitted bodice, with set in side panels on left and right side of floor length dress, tall trim attached a neck forming a loop.

Dress obviously made from an old paisley shawl, can even find a small old darned repair area. Paisley shawls were popular for about hundred years, from 1780-1870s, and could be as big as five feet square to five feet by twelve feet.
