Last Court of Hawaiian Queen
Bustle dress of gold brocade and plain gold silk fabric. Gold brocade on close fitted bodice, edged with very pale blue piping and gold-colored pleased ruffle, bodice drapes to the back to form a train with 3 pleats, bottom edge of the train has rectangular pyramid shapes filled with rows of horizontal ruffles. Right side of train has 2 bows. Bodice front has a solid gold fabric insert that forms the front closure with 11 round pearl buttons. Bodice has set-in sleeves with bell-shaped pleated cuffs,over which are sewn large fabric rows of gold and pale blue fabric. The skirt is detached from bodice and is made of a solid gold-colored fabric with 6 rows of horizontal pleats to which 2 rows of pale blue fringe are sewn.

Donor, Mrs. Robert Thompson claimed in 1948 that this dress was worn at the last court of the Hawaiian queen. (no data could be found yet to support this claim, but a table also given with this donation was supposed to have been used in the palace of the Hawaiian queen.
