Description 
Fraud? Red pipestone. Two holes below base of bowl (thin wall); black resinous accretions on exterior surfaces; irregular sooting/black accretions on bowl interior. Original catalog card: "Stemmed Micmac Pipe. Locality: Langlade County, Wis. Received from Carl Wittman Collection. Date: Feb 22, 1941. Dark red catlinite. High barrel shaped bowl which has 3 thin lines around it near the top and 2 near the bottom. The bowl sets on a slender stem which rests in the center of an almost square base. The bottom is flat. The stem is so thin it has two breaks in it facing the smoker."
