Description Fraud? Squat urn-like bowl with conical interior, encircling incised line on bowl exterior, black resinous accretion at inside top of bowl only. Shank has a round cross section with flat body; stem-end is narrower than shank end; sooted at stem-end and shank end.

Original catalog card: "Unperforated MicMac Pipe (rounded base). Locality: Shore of Lake Shawano, Shawano County, Wis. Received from Carl Wittman Collection, Merrill, Wis. Date: Feb 22, 1941. Wisconsin catlinite. Made from Wisconsin catlinite found in Barron County. It has a flat bottom and a round shallow bowl, almost lie a Chinese opium pipe."
