Description 
Fraud? Red pipestone. Urn-like cylindrical bowl above short faceted stem shank; long perforated handle. Handle is broken and glued and missing most of one edge. No evidence of use. Original catalog card: "Small Catlinite Tomahawk shaped Pipe. Locality: Found on the Beckmann Hotel site, Lake Nagawicka, Waukesha County, Wis. Received from Carl Wittman Collection, Merrill, Wis. Date: Feb 22, 1941. Minnesota Catlinite. This is a very fine extraordinary specimen. It shows the artistic ability of the aboriginal craftsman. It was found while plowing near the west shore of Nagawicka Lake in Waukesha County, Wis.
