Description 
Green pipestone/steatite. Curved base. Partially reconstructed with red material painted green or gray material: all of outflared bowl, part of bowl facing the smoker, and the stem shank end opposite the mouthpiece. Incised line around base of the bowl. Original catalog card: "Steatite, Curved base Monitor Pipe. Locality: Waupaca, Waupaca County, Wis. Received from Carl Wittman Collection. Date: Feb 22, 1941. Greenish steatite. This type of pipe is generally classed as a Hopewell Culture piece and is generally found in Mounds along the Wisconsin shores of the Mississippi River. It has 10 notches cut in on the edge on one side of the base. The pot shape bowl set rights in the center of the platform."
