Red, grit tempered ceramic. Conical bowl with incised chevrons around the outer rim; 1/4 of bowl wall, all of bowl base and all of stem reconstructed.
Original catalog card: "Trumpet shape Pottery Pipe. (No locality.) Received from S. D. Mitchell Collection. Pottery. Reconstructed from a fragment of the bowl. The entire stem is artificial. Notice the saw tooth decoration around the bowl. Made from a reddish clay." |
