Description 
Pipe-head only. Dark red pipestone with lighter coloration. Cylindrical bowl, slightly wider at rim than base, black resinous staining on bowl interior and very slightly on lip; shank has round cross section with flat bottom; tapered prow with flat top, beveled end and oval cross section continues in front of bowl. Original catalog card: "Catlinite Great Calumet. Locality: Chippewa Indian Reservation, Lac du Flambeau. Received by purchase, Oshkosh Public Museum. Date: 1941. Orange & red catlinite. This is a fine pipe, the definite history is lacking. It was purchased from roving Indian for $5."
