Description 
Fraud? Red sandstone. Oval bowl. Identified as a fake by former OPM curator Robert Hruska. From the Arthur P. Kannenberg Collection. He recorded the following in his catalog: "Red sandstone vase shaped pipe. It was found with the other pipes on the Walter Karrow farm. (See OPM 1998.22.178, 1998.22.179, 1998.22.233, 1998.22.234, 1998.22.238.) (Received from) Walter Karrow." Original catalog card written by Kannenberg for L300-44 (5087APK): "Diminutive Siouan pipe. Locality: Town of Oshkosh, Winnebago County. Received from Walter Karow. Red sandstone. A very coarse, crude pipe made of a hard sandstone. It was found with the mass of other pipes and material and two skeletons on the Walter Karrow farm in 1928."
