Excerpt from the Koehn catalog includes: "A grey flint Pebble Pipe. A very rare piece. Stone drilled. It is almost round. It was found Butte des Morts. Other history unknown. This must have been a Medicine Man's pipe. Benedict Collection. "

Original catalog card: "Modified Ovoid Pipe. Locality: Butte des Morts Hill, Winnebago County, Wis. Received from E. Benedict - C. Koehn Collection. Green pebble. Surface find at Butte des Morts."
