Description Red pipestone. Conical bowl with oval cross section, encircling lead inlay below rim, black resinous accretions on bowl lip and interior; square stem-end with beveled corners, encircling lead inlay; rest of shank has oval cross section with flat bottom; cut off tapered prow extends in front of bowl. A hole at base of bowl/top of shank apparently from very thin wall.

Original catalog card: "Leaded Siouan Pipe. Locality: Waubeno, Forest County, Wis. Potawatomi Indian. Received from Carl Wittman Collection, Merrill, Wis. Date: Feb 22, 1941. Minnesota Catlinite. This is a perfect specimen with an inlaid band of lead around the stem block and near the top of the bowl. ... It was secured from "Joe Wisconsin", a Potawatomi Indian."
