Small 3 1/2"x 5 1/4" hard cover pocket account book kept by "Louis B. Porlier" while employed by his father, Jacques Porlier, and his father-in-law, Augustin Grignon, at the Trading Post at Butte des Morts, Wisconsin. The book is written in French and contains entries for goods distributed to Native Americans, mostly Menominee, from the Trading Post. Each is listed by name and what goods they received "on account". The entries are in French, but items from the post include:
