Description:
Woven storage bag created with a hand-weaving technique known as finger-twining. The warp is made of basswood strips that are natural and dyed red, green, and yellow. The weft is made of both wool twine in the upper portion of the bag and bark (bast fiber) cord in the lower. Two remnants of a possible strap or handles made of woven cotton strips are wrapped around the braided rim.
