Found on the shores of Lake Winnebago in 1847. Burned diamond leaf and flower design, Menominee? The floral carving, a common design of Woodland Indians, suggsts the the paddle might be of Menominee origin.
Comments:
Have you ever seen a truck or car than has art on the sides, such as a outdoor scene, animals, or even fire? People love to decorate everyday objects.

A canoe paddle was an everyday object to Native people. They traveled, fished, and hunted from dugout and birch bark canoes. It is decorated with floral designs burned into the wood and is probably Menominee.
